Frequently Asked

How do I know you can help me?

Read this page + your therapist’s page. These will give you a good feel for who I am working with and how. Watch the videos of me to connect to how we are in therapy.

Are there issues that you don’t treat?

Yes. Every therapist is trained in certain areas. These are called their “scope of practice”. In order to provide the best care for clients, each therapist has a yes and no section on their page. The practice does not do:

  • Neuro-psychological evaluations

  • Individual Education Programs (IEPs) for schools.

  • Any Forensic (court) services / court-ordered therapy

  • Psychiatry

  • Letters related to custody, medical likelihood of recovery, and/or cause of condition

  • Emotional support pet letters

  • Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)

  • Domestic Abuse (DA), Intimate Partner Violence (IPV), and Coercive Control (CC)

Please seek crisis or specialized services. Sometimes people don’t realize they are involved in abusive relationships. It may come out after you have started therapy. We will likely refer you to a social worker who can help you navigate various systems.
You can also call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 800-799-7233

Pet Policy

No pets are allowed in the office, if we meet in-person. When meeting via Zoom, we ask pets to only come if they don’t cause distraction.

What’s your cancellation policy?

Cancel or reschedule an appointment with 48 hours notice. If you cancel an appointment with less or fail to show up, you will be charged the full fee for the appointment. We understand that there are times that an emergency may come up closer to the appointment, and in that case, we will try to find an available time slot the same week.

Are you online or in-person?

We offer in-person and/or tele-mental-health appointments

Where’s your office?

We are located at:
1818 Westlake Avenue N.
Suite 224

Is there parking?

There is paid 2 hour parking on site for a rate of 0.50 cents/hour

Are you available for immediate or crisis response services?

Outpatient therapy does not offer 24/7 crisis response. We will get back to you during business hours.

If you are in crisis, please call:

Crisis Clinic at 866.427.4747

National Emergency Line 988

In case of emergency, call 911 or go directly to the nearest hospital emergency room

Do you only do play therapy?

No. We specialize in Family Therapy & utilize other models. Each treatment plan is tailored to the client. Play is typically used when working with children, but, adults can also play!

How can I pay for therapy?

I require a credit or debit card on file in order to schedule sessions. Your card on file will be charged automatically for your portion of your session fee. The session fee is due at time of service.

What do I ask the insurance company to see about my “out-of-network” benefits?

Call the number on the back of your card. Here’s what to ask:

  1. Do I have behavioral/mental health coverage?

  2. How many outpatient psychotherapy sessions am I allotted in my plan?

  3. What are my out-of-network benefits for seeing a Marriage and Family Therapist using CPT/billing codes 90791, 90837, and/or 90847?

  4. Are there any limitations, requirements, or restrictions in accessing my plan?

  5. Am I limited to a dollar amount per year that will be covered?

  6. What is the amount of my deductible? Co-pay? Co-insurance?

  7. How do I submit batch claims online?
